ADJUDICATION SCORE LEVELS

Each routine receives three scores out of 100. Two adjudicators provide verbal feedback and a score. The ONE of a Kind Awards Adjudicator provides the third score and selects special awards. The three scores are averaged to determine the routine’s final score.

Each dancer receives one medal at check-in.

CHARM FOR EVERY ROUTINE

During awards, dancers receive one charm for every routine performed, representing that routine’s adjudication level.

Additional medals and charm chains are available for purchase at the merchandise table.

These scores also apply to The Next ONE: Mission Levels 1 & 2.

Top 10 awards are announced by genre for Elevate, Core and Elite.

Specialty charms will be awarded for select achievements, including One of a Kind, Top 10, and The ONE of the Session.

Categories with more than 10 entries may be separated into 12 years and under and 13 years and over age groups.

Both age groups will receive their own trophy and cash prize, where applicable.

Categories with fewer than 5 entries may be subject to a reduced cash prize.

AWARDS SESSIONS

Awards sessions are scheduled approximately every two to three hours. Each session follows the general order below, although some recognition may not apply to every session.

Onstage Feedback and Activities

Adjudicators join dancers on stage to share feedback and encouragement or lead a short activity.

ONE of a Kind Awards

The ONE of a Kind Awards Adjudicator presents special recognition, including Most Potential, Most Entertaining, ONE of a Kind and Top Choreography.

Session Standings and Charms

Each dancer receives a charm representing the adjudication level earned by every routine they performed. First, second and third place are announced for categories with three or more entries.

Finals Qualification and Recognition

Routines earning a Distinction score of 95 or higher are invited on stage for a photo and automatically qualify for The Final One.

When applicable, the Top 10 routines in each genre are announced separately by level.

When enough eligible studios are represented, the top 5 qualifying groups in each genre are invited to The Final One, with a maximum of one group per studio.

The ONE of the Session

The awards session concludes with The ONE of the Session, recognizing the highest-scoring routine of that session.

ONE OF A KIND

A personalized award created and named by the ONE of a Kind Awards Adjudicator to recognize something distinctive that made a dancer or routine especially memorable.

MOST ENTERTAINING

Presented to a routine with standout performance quality and strong audience impact.

JUDGE'S PICK

Each adjudicator selects one eligible group routine per event that particularly stood out to them. The selected routines are announced at session awards and receive automatic invitations to The Showdown and The Final One.

ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Dancers may also be selected for additional scholarships and training opportunities offered by partner organizations and adjudicators. These may include monetary scholarships, workshop or intensive tuition, and one-on-one coaching sessions. Opportunities may vary by event.

MOST POTENTIAL

Presented to a dancer who demonstrates exceptional promise and potential for continued development.

TOP CHOREOGRAPHY

Recognizes a routine demonstrating exceptional creativity, structure and execution.

STAND OUT DANCER

Two dancers from each division—Rising Star, Elevate, Core and Elite—are selected to receive a $100 credit, issued to their studio, toward next season’s entry fees.

WORLD PERFORMERS CANADA INVITATION

Top-scoring soloists in select genres may receive an invitation to join World Performers Canada.

THE ONE SHOWDOWN

Standout group routines return to the stage for one high-energy finale. Selections are based on impact, entertainment value and stage presence, not score.

5–9 ELIGIBLE GROUPS

At least one group from the studio will be selected.

10+ ELIGIBLE GROUPS

At least two groups from the studio will be selected.

JUDGE'S PICK

AUTOMATIC

Judge's Pick recipients receive an additional invitation to both The Showdown and The Final One.

Eligible: Elevate, Core and Elite group routines. Solos, duo/trios, productions, adult division and Rising Star routines are not eligible.
